Freelancers: check out Wor.kaholi.com iPhone Web App

I've been using this time tracking iPhone web app like crazy and really love it.

A simple, intuitive, tool to make tracking client, project and workflow time convenient and simple. Perfect for all types of freelance and paid by time applications. Even works great to quickly monitor your current workday totals (then view a report to check timecard accuracy)!

Manage multiple projects for many clients all through one simple interface.

Time can be displayed as simple reports showing total project commitment or in an expanded chronological format showing each work period’s contribution.

link only works on iPhone:
URL:
WorKaholiCom Time Tracker

To start using it, go to Web Apps in your iPhone bookmarks. You can add the icon to your home screen too.

Thanks to whoever made this. There's just one little thing I would love to be able to see "just today" -- instead of the last 30 days -- for each client.

Nike and Apple Make iPod Compatible With Gym Equipment

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080304/nike_apple_gym.html?.v=1

SWEET!! This is a great idea. I know it's mostly a business decision, but I feel really hopeful when I see technology being used to promote health.

Not that I go to the gym much now that I live in San Francisco and can run outdoors.

How to Make Ringtones for your iPhone using your MP3s

Here's what you need to do it:

* GarageBand 4.1.1 or later

1. open Garageband (I had never even opened it before, but it's easy to see what's what)

2. Select "Create new"

3. Click "Create"

4. Show the media browser

5. drag a song onto the track

6. click the loop icon

7. drag the loop around or shorten/lengthen it til you get a loop of no more than 40 seconds

8. Go to Share > Send Ringtone to iTunes

9. Connect your iPhone and sync

10. On your iPhone, go to Sounds and select the ringtone

11. Do a little dance every time your phone rings!

Apple Offering $100 Store Credit For All iPhone early adopters

Breaking news:

Steve Jobs has published an open letter to iPhone buyers which mentions that Apple is aware of the distress (see my earlier post!) that early buyers went through when they saw the price cut, and...
"Therefore, we have decided to offer every iPhone customer who purchased an iPhone from either Apple or AT&T, and who is not receiving a rebate or any other consideration, a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store. Details are still being worked out and will be posted on Apple's website next week. Stay tuned."

iPhone disappointment

Apple just lowered the price of the iPhone by $200, only 2 months after it came out. I bought one right when it was released, and I'm really disappointed.

After all the trouble of waiting for it to be released and getting one early, I feel like we early adopters are being punished. We had to deal with ATT and Apple giving out conflicting information about their phone plans, spotty network service and dropped calls, visual voicemail suddenly disappearing for good (it was a major reason i got the phone in the first place) and now they're telling us that we paid $200 too much for our trouble on top of it all.

I feel like a sucker and certainly won't be the first to buy an Apple product again.

(if you had the same experience, I recommend going here and telling them: http://www.apple.com/iphone/share/ )

Mac Market Share Now 6.38%

Interesting news. Sounds like the Intel Macs were a bit conversion-booster.

from Apple 2.0:

Apple's (AAPL) market share has grown to 6.38% according to a new survey by Net Applications (details here). The results are based on a survey of browser visits to some 40,000 URLs and break the stats down between non-Intel (4.29%) and Intel (2.09%) machines. According to MacDailyNews, which has been tracking these numbers, this represents an increase of 2.05% over the past six months.
